  • all real life signals are analog in nature
  • digital signal is used in communication processes to minimize effects of noise
  • so the noise gets lowered down based on number of levels we have
  • but this is only effective as long as noise is pretty low, as for larger noise they can jump drastically to different levels and there is not much noise minimization between analog and digital

  • analog signal can take any vale
  • signal defined for descrete intervals of time, looks like thin rods
  • discrete time signal is a subset of the analog signal
  • digital signal is the one with both axes discretized
  • so it takes the lower value from the dts to get digital
  • why?

  • in electronics, the physical thing is mostly voltage or current
  • if I is constant, then it is DC
  • DC is not a signal
  • Transducer converts non-electrical signal to electrical signal
  • Reverse transducer does the reverse
